Please reflect on one scene from the movie that you believe highlights where
we have difficulties in knowing the truth.   For example, what ways does someone
else's bias or influence persuade our perspective of truth? (This is one
approach to a knowledge issue.  You do not need to stick with this one, you may
see something else worth talking about instead.  You have a bit of freedom with
this journal entry.)

"That's the beauty of argument, if you argue correctly, you are never wrong."
The sentence seem to describe the fallacy in an argument: there's no right or wrong, it about the choice. If one is to argue correctly and able to defended his choice, like to smoke, he can used any logic, applied any belief when and wherever he want, however unrelated it is, as long as it seem to make sense, and it does, because he is defending using normality. Therefore, any fallacy is indeed, true to some sense, cause it is proof. The basic about fallacy and argument is that nothing is true, therefore there is no wrong either. It's all depend on our perspective and how we define our Trueness. So, ironically, fallacy is indeed, a fallacy

When the main character goes to speak to his son's school, he makes all the classmates doubt about themselves and their world, because he claims that you don't have to believe everything the grown ups tell you, which is true. As little kids, they are easily influenced with what they hearAt the same time, the little kids forget that he is a grown up as well, and they shouldn't agree with him either. This is what he later explains; you don't have to argue for yourself, but against the other proposals. This technique is effective because when someone can prove that your point of view is wrong, you can get lost, and agree with the other person. It is a way of manipulating others' minds, brainwashing them. His ironic speech ends up with them wanting to try cigarettes, and a disgusted teacher.

One way is when there is the doctor that was brought in from Germany to test if disease and cigarettes were in any way related. As the main character explains the scientist was able to disprove gravity. This shows how a bias can lead you to create the results you need and not the results that are actually present.
