Theory of Knowledge is an extremely practical subject.  It can be applied in all your IB subjects, and in almost any aspect of your daily life.  Your essays and your presentations will be awarded marks for how you relate what we do in class to your own experiences.  It is therefore important that you get used to applying the ideas of Theory of Knowledge to your own original examples.

You are required to keep up with your TOK journal entries through the designated TOK blog. Here, you will make weekly entries about the ideas of Theory of Knowledge and how they apply to your everyday life.  You are also required to upload your entries to your personal ManageBac TOK page.  Your journal entries will be a response to the chosen theme of the blog.  You will find that the journals are hard to write at first, but after a while you will begin to see opportunities for entries all around.  Importantly, essays/presentations are made much easier by a series of good journals.

In my opinion this is a very inspiring quote by plato. It is basically saying that everyone has the potential to become a philosopher, and that it just takes a moment of curiosity. Everything is starting somewhere, and even the most famous and rich people started very small, when we just take the example of Steve Jobs. All it takes to become a Philosopher is a wonder, and this is possible for everyone.

To wonder is to be curious, and start seeking for answers, and this is how we acquire knowledge. And this wondering, the process of seeking the answers, is philosophy.

To me this quote is very exciting and a good example that everyone has a chance.

I think Plato wants to use this byword tells us that philosophers have the wonder for beginning of their philosophy. In our real life, there are many things have wonder that we meet them everyday. Philosophy does not need ornate rhetoric, so beautiful vocabulary, just be true and can show other people your opinion about everything that happens in the life.

Philosopher also is human, that only is one of the jobs and we are similar. Philosophy uses human languages to write down, so is not hard to be philosopher and not hard to write philosophy because we are human and we can use the language they use. Not every our opinions and ideas can be philosophy because we should show people some different ideas or interesting wonders, that will be the start to be a philosopher.

Plato wants to encourage more and more people to use words to show people their real life of thinking, everything could be philosophy and everyone could be philosopher, everything can be possible to happen, just depends you want or not.

Do not forget a real idea that is every philosophy comes from our life.

I agree with this quote and I think it's very interesting to thing that wonder is the beginning of philosophy.
In order to be curious you need first to have amazement, without amazement, we can't question the world we live in, so you don't have critical thinking, you just believe in what the society tells you to think, that's why through the years you stop asking questions, because you think you already have the answers. You need to have wonder in order to have questions, and then seek for the answers

Thanks, guys! Your contributions are highly appreciated. Please see below the criteria I will use to mark your entries:

1) Comprehension. You should answer the question (or comment on the given quotation) in a manner that reflects a good understanding of its meaning and/or relation to what we do in class.

2) Expression. Please revise both grammar and spelling. I will subtract one point for each serious mistake you commit. Not typos, of course.

3) Adequateness of the length of your answers to the "substance" and "level of difficulty" of the question. Although I prefer quality to quantity, it is not enough to tap a few sentences on your smartphones. I know this is a small box you have to write or type your answers in, but there's no alternative. I expect you to write approximately 350 words or more. Tip: use personal examples.
